DEATH
All praise is due to Allah; the One that ordained the remembrance of the destroyer of pleasures. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Him alone without partners, the One Who Says “Whatsoever is on the Earth will perish” Arrahman, V26. And I testify that our leader Prophet Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him, His household and companions till the day of Resurrection.
O servant of Allah! Our today’s talk is about an hour, a final moment, everybody must go through, either he likes or not, that is Death, the transition from the temporary life to the permanent life. Allah the Almighty says: “Every soul shall taste death. And only on the Day Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception” Al-Imran, V185. He also said: “Indeed We have created man, and We know what his own self whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular”. Qaf, V16. The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever is interrogated during the reckoning, is punished”. And He also said: “I had prohibited you from visiting the grave yards. So, visit them, for they will remind you of the Hereafter”.
Death is a moment that no one can escape nor delayed; it is moment no one can cover what has gone past in his life, a moment no one can rectify his shortcomings. Allah said: “Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family.” It will come to them suddenly while engaging in their daily activities, during their quarrel and dispute unexpectedly. Momentarily he will not be able to write a will for those behind him, nor his family for any goodness in his escape.
This is a warning for heedless people, those who disregard death by being occupied with worldly materials, and they will be overtaken by the death suddenly.
Glory be to Allah! When the Death descends no one can utter a word, let alone to engage in an obligation or returning the grievance. Bequest is mentioned in this Verse beside other utterances because of its significance at that moment, however, the indefinite article is used in the word “وصية” (a bequest) which refers to will in general terms and in whatever conditions. And He the Almighty said: “nor they will return to their family.”
Allah the Most-High Said: “Until, when death comes to one of them (Those who join partners with Allah), he says “My Lord! Send me back, So, that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” No! It is but a word that he speaks; and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day they will be resurrected”. Almu’minun V99 – 100. Asking to be sent back in this verse is not only for disbelieving person, but also a neglectful Muslim. Seeing their ends and consequences of their bad deeds, they will request to be returned to the world. This is not for enjoyments with its desires but as He said: “So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” His grief that he was undutiful to Allah. Allah said: “No” no going back at that moment, His request was an insignificant wish that is never benefit but grief and regret. Barzakh is the grave where every soul would be gathered. Obedient People shall enjoy there as a starter before the resurrection, and sinners should taste the punishment as well.
O servant of Allah! We should think about this moment, when a barrier will be set between your desires and beloved ones, and opportunities of good deeds will be cut, hardship and difficulties falling upon you. you will be calling remorsefully saying: “O My Lord! Send me back, So, that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” He will not respond to You, you have had not a single our for repenting to Him, let us bear and ponder deeply upon this request eventually Now before it be late, let us be mindful with this calling in our heart, so that it will result consciousness of Allah and Piety by Obeying His commands and abstaining His Prohibitions.
Allah the Exalted said: “And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes.” The appointed time will never be delayed. Its limited unavoidable, a negligent would like be delayed a moment to cover up his shortcomings regretfully, but how impossible! For those who squandered in the time of work, despite the warner has come, procrastination and subordination to Satan blocked them to repent to Allah.
If a sensible notices this time in his healthy life will get any request granted, in fact that we will knowingly regret if we were undutiful to Allah and grief why should not be hurry and be well prepared? it was narrated that Nuh ( A.) Was asked: He was the longest life among the Prophets , How did you see this world ? He said:” By Allah I saw it like the one entered through a door and came out through another door”. Allah said: “And on the Day that the Hour will be Established, the Mujrimuun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) will swear that they stayed not but an Hour” Arruum v:55.
O Servant of Allah! We have to prepare well for the Death, and wake up from our slumber and heedlessness. Allah the Almighty has cautioned us saying: “Draws near for mankind their reckoning, but they turn away in heedlessness” Al’anbiya v:1. This Verse requires grief and regret for the oppressor when hour comes and sees the agony. And He also said: “And whomsoever Allah sends astray, for him is no Wali (protector, helper, guardian) after Him. And you will see the Zalimun (polytheist, wrong-doers, oppressors) when they behold the torment, they will say: “Is there any way of return to the world?.” Asshura, V:44. What a terrible and horrible view! And a big grief and sorrow with no resemble, by saying : Is there any way of return to the world?” Is any way or means to go back to the world so that to rectify our wrong-deeds? No! This is an impossible request, May Allah protect me and You from that.
O You Muslim! Remember the Death always, and put the Hell in between your sight, you will see it clearly. O you who believed in hereafter undoubtedly wake up before the agony of death befall on you suddenly, and before being put in a luminous grave or gloomy one. Some People do not want to hear the Word Death or Grave, Subhanallah! This is the deceit of Iblis, to live in heedlessness, for that The messenger of Allah said: “so visit them, for they will remind you of the Hereafter”.do not leave Satan to Play with You, You must Die and Enter Grave either you like or not sooner or later, do not deceive yourself, do not close your eyes from reality. Allah said: “And remember the Day when the Zalim (wrong-doer, oppressor, polytheist) will bite at his hands, he will say “Oh! would that I had taken a Path with the messenger (Muhammad S.A.W).
