IN THE NAME OF ALLAH MOST GRACIOUS MOST MERCIFUL

Jumu’ah Khutbah Translation 12th Safar, 1444AH, Equivalent to 9th September 2022
THE INDECENCY OF THE PEOPLE OF LOT, PEACE BE UPON HIM (HOMOSEXUALITY AND LESBIANISM), FROM CONCEALMENT AND PROHIBITION TO OPENNESS AND PERMISSIBILITY
(All praise is for Allah, the originator of the havens and the earths, who made angel as His Messengers with wings- two, three or four. He increases in creation whatever He wills. Surely Allah is Most Capable of everything) (surah fatir:1). We thank Him and we are grateful for His favours upon us. I bear witness that none deserves worship except Him Alone without partners. He is unique in His oneness, lordship, divinity, and legislation; He is the One, the self-sufficient, (he begets not, nor was he begotten. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him) (sural Al-lkhlas 3-4). I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. He Almighty has sent him as a mercy to the worlds, and as guidance to all people; So, he opened a blind eye, a deaf ear, and a wrapped heart, may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him, his family, and his companions.
To proceed, Fear and obey Allah, and adhere to your religion. For this will make you successful is this world and the hereafter. Allah says: (whoever do righteous deeds, weather male or female, while he or she is a true believer. Verily to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment, and lawful provision) and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do. (I.e, Paradise in the hereafter)
O people: sins are disgraceful and outrageous because they oppose Allah’s commandment, and its companion violates His prohibition. The evil of a sin is greater if it is from the major sins. And it will be more ugly and greater if it is committed publicly, and people are invited to it. And the greatest evil of all is when it is made permissible. This is because permitting what Allah forbids nullifies one’s faith and it opposes the oneness of Allah in His Lordship. It also negates Allah’s solely right of legislation. Allah says: “To Him Alone is the Creation and the Command. Glory be to Allah the Lord of the worlds” Surah Al A’arf 5.
The indecency of the people of Lot, peace be upon him, is one of the worst of sins, the most heinous of immoralities, and the most odious of evils. Because it is an alteration of the fitrah, and a violation of the Sharia. And this obscene continued from the people of Lot to generations after them. The originators of this sin were doing it secretly in the absence of people until a later generation emerged and performed it publicly all in the name of Morden civilization. They propagated this evil deed and made it permissible for others in the name of Natural inclination.
And whoever reads the Qur’an, finds great admonishment against this evil, and overwhelming evidence on its prohibition.
Allah says: (And remember Lut, when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the Alamin (mankind and jinns)?) surah A’araf 80
(And remember Lut, we gave him Hukman (right judgment of the affairs and prophethood) and knowledge and we saved him from the town (folk) who practise Al Khaba’ith (evil, wicked and filthy deeds) verily, they were a people given to evil and were rebellious and disobedient to Allah) surah Al anbiyaa 74.
And in the Prophetic Sunnah, the one who does it is cursed; As in the hadith of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, he said: The Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, said: (He is cursed, whoever does the action of the people of Lut). Narrated imam Ahmad and authenticated by ibn Hibaan
And what is more heinous than doing this immorality, publicizing it and inviting others to it. Allah says: (Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allah is Ever All hearing and All- knowing) surah An Nisa 148
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: All my Ummah (Nation) are forgiven except those who publicize their sins. And publicizing one’s sins means when a person commits an evil deed and Allah covers him up. He comes to people saying: I did so and so last night. And Allah had covered him up. He goes around unveiling Allah’s covers up him). Bukhari and Muslim. Ibn Al Qayim said: This is an obstacle people know not. Its blocks their paths and closes the doors of repentance upon them).
Publicizing the indecency of the people Lut means spreading it amongst people. Allah says: (verily, those who like that (the crime of) illegal sexual intercourse should be propagated among those who believed, they will have a painful torment in this world and in the hereafter. And Allah knows and you know not) surah An nur 19.
What is worse than committing this indecency and publicizing it, is making is permissible and claiming it permissibility. Allah says:
(And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: That is lawful, and this is forbidden” so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper. A passing brief enjoyment (will be theirs) but they will have a painful torment.
O Muslims: It is obligatory to protect the hearts from this immorality and remember that it is one of the major sins. And to enlighten our children about its evil.
It is mandatory upon Muslims to teach their children Allah’s greatness and worship. And to teach them Allah’s injunctions and Prohibitions
As for the lords of immoralities, those who openly declare them, those who take them for granted, those who invite to them, those who make mischief to the children of the Muslims Male and female; The torment of Allah Almighty awaits them if they do not repent of this great crime and the manifest sin. For if they are spared in this world, then the hereafter is the most severe and the most remaining.
(We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not. And I respite them; certainly, my plan is strong) surah Al a’arf) 182-183
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet…
